CathayGuide is written and edited by a small team focused on getting the facts right for first-time visitors to China. We work from primary official sources, date every time-sensitive page, and correct mistakes openly — our full method is on the editorial policy page.

Visa, entry & connectivity
Visa and entry pages are written against primary official sources — the National Immigration Administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassy notices — and re-checked whenever the policy changes. Internet, payment and transport guidance comes from living with the Great Firewall and the Alipay/WeChat stack day to day, and from regularly re-testing what actually works for visitors.
Spotted an error?
On visa, safety and payment pages especially, accuracy matters more than anything. If you think we've got something wrong, please tell us — we check every correction against the official source and update the page with a dated note.
