Airport arrival guide · PKX

Beijing Daxing International Airport: your first route into Beijing.

From international arrivals to Wangfujing, Qianmen and central Beijing, choose a route that still works with your luggage, arrival time and payment setup.

First answer

PKX is a modern airport with useful rail links, but it sits farther south. It can be a good choice for central or southern Beijing, but late arrivals need a road-transport fallback.

Choose your transport by arrival time

Public transportDaxing Airport Express and intercity rail options

Best for visitors arriving before the final service, with manageable luggage and a hotel near a useful station.

DiDi or licensed taxiDoor-to-door

Best after public transport closes, in rain, with jet lag, or when the metro requires awkward changes.

Pre-booked transferMeet-and-go option

Worth considering for a very late first arrival, large groups or travellers who want a fixed pickup plan.

PKX: use the international-arrival offer correctly

PKX’s current international-arrival airport-bus offer is useful only if you register at the Beijing Service counter outside the international and regional baggage-claim hall, obtain a voucher and use one of its designated routes. It is not an automatic free transfer, and it expires on 31 October 2026.

The Airport Express reaches Caoqiao quickly, but Caoqiao is not the final destination for most visitors. The airport lists the express station on B1, with Caoqiao connections to Lines 10 and 19; its full business-class fare is ¥50. Compare the total transfer to the hotel against a road ride before committing.

For a delayed late flight, start with the published night routes; if they do not fit the hotel, choose a licensed taxi, DiDi or transfer rather than trying to improvise a cross-city journey. PKX’s official e-hailing pickup area is on Level 1M of the P1 parking building, reached from the terminal’s second-floor east corridor.

Until 31 October 2026, eligible international and regional arrivals can claim one free ride on designated PKX airport-bus routes by showing their boarding document at the Beijing Service counter and collecting a voucher. The offer is limited, route-specific and not a substitute for checking a live departure.

Night-route fallback
